National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art
Emerging Artist Discovery Program
As part of its ESG management philosophy, Noroo Paint is sponsoring <Young Korean Artists 2023: Annotations for a Museum>, hosted by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA).
This past March, Noroo Paint and the MMCA signed a sponsorship agreement aimed at advancing Korean art and culture. Through the agreement, Noroo Paint pledged support, including sponsorship funding, for <Young Korean Artists 2023>, an emerging artist discovery program. The MMCA plans to make active use of Noroo Paint's support for the program.
<Young Korean Artists> began in 1981 as the <Young Artists Exhibition> and marks its 42nd anniversary this year, making it the most historic and prestigious emerging artist discovery program in Korea. This year, 13 emerging artists (teams) selected through recommendations and consultation with MMCA curators and outside experts are taking part.
Over the years, Noroo Paint has carried out color-sharing activities to improve the environment in underserved areas through the functionality of its paints and its distinctive colors, and has worked to create customer experiences by integrating culture and the arts across diverse fields such as art exhibitions, photography exhibitions, and art fairs.
In particular, this exhibition uses 'MMCA White paint,' jointly developed by Noroo Paint and the MMCA, in staging the space. The developed product features a color that allows the artists' works to stand out even more.
A Noroo Paint official said, "This sponsorship was carried out to foster exchange between the corporate sector and Korea's cultural and artistic community and to provide new opportunities for emerging artists," adding, "We plan to pursue a variety of collaborations going forward to advance the culture and arts industry."
