Releases its ‘Sustainability Report’

Discloses activity performance by domain

Noroo Paint has published its 2021 Sustainability Report, which sets out the performance, goals, and strategy of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management—a set of non-financial factors.

The Noroo Sustainability Report was created to transparently disclose to stakeholders the performance indicators and key activities carried out in each domain based on Noroo Paint's ESG management strategy.

The report details the priority initiatives and future plans in each area in compliance with the Global Standards Guidelines of the GRI (Global Reporting Initiative). It introduces the company's ESG management objectives and vision, along with its implementation strategy and its efforts to create sustainable future value through eco-friendly technological innovation.

In addition, the company presented a vision of value creation for the future and a sustainability framework grounded in social responsibility—pursued through core values such as a safe environment, responsible management, sustainable technological innovation, human resource management, putting customer value first, and communication and cooperation.

Noroo Paint disclosed through the report the results of a diagnosis based on ISO 26000, the international standard for social responsibility. According to the diagnostic report, the company received positive assessments for the high level of awareness of social responsibility among its members, its well-established operating systems, policies, and practices, and the effective performance management achieved by integrating social responsibility activities into every stage of the organization's operations.

Last year, Noroo Paint was the only company in the industry to earn an overall grade of A in the ESG management evaluation and rating announcement for listed companies by the Korea Corporate Governance Service (KCGS). The most significant factor behind this achievement was the company's success in building consensus among its members by steadily carrying out activities that convey the meaning of ESG management—such as ESG education and a joint labor-management declaration—centered on the dedicated ESG department newly established in January of last year.
